Fitness Training – Kids and Parents can join the FREE 4 week Families Fitness Programme Glasgow together!

BYITC is sponsoring a FREE 4 week Families Fitness Programme Glasgow – led by a Gold Medalist in Ruchill Park that kids and parents can take part in. It will cover several aspects of athletics and aerobics which should be done in fresh air, as well as some indoor activities.

At BYITC we believe that it is important not only to improve the minds of children, but also to improve their physical health and mental well-being. Through Families Fitness Programme Glasgow we hope to enrich the lives of children in the community by encouraging them to take the first step towards a life-long passion for health, fitness and learning.

Benefits Of Participating

The physical exertion involved in sports can strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, rev up metabolism, improve circulation and promote good mental health. Taking part in Families Fitness Programme Glasgow also gives kids a chance to develop valuable social skills, notes the American Academy of Pediatrics.

A child learns much from competing, including how to cope with both victory and failure and leadership skills. Athletic accomplishment yields confidence and assurance for growing children. Sports are incredibly beneficial for children in terms of body, mind and spirit.

Pros & Cons of Sports for Children

Health care providers are placing great importance on physical fitness for kids. One way for children to stay healthy is to play sports. A 2018 Parliamentary report states that 12% of Primary 1 children in Scotland are at risk of being overweight and 10% are at risk of being obese. Families Fitness Programme Glasgow for kids can play an important part in tackling the growing problem of childhood obesity. Since obesity leads to serious health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, exercise is a great and fun way for children to avoid illness and grow into healthy adults. In addition to providing physical activity, Families Fitness Programme Glasgow also helps children to develop social skills and practice teamwork. Having a set exercise routine for children is more important nowadays than ever: a 2016 survey showed that modern kids spend around half the time playing outside that their parents did as children, and prefer to stay indoors playing on their computers and consoles. However, tough competition and pressure to fit too much into an already packed schedule are reasons that some kids may shy away from sports. It is important to consider this before deciding if signing your child up is the right choice.
